Broadcasting a Movement: Miguel Gutierrez’s freedom of information 2008

This year is ending on a somber note for many of us in the U.S. and around the world. Choreographer Miguel Gutierrez has organized an event that rides on this zeitgeist with freedom of information 2008 an endurance improv ritual in response to the continuing U.S. led wars in Afghanistan and Iraq that will be performed over a 24 hour period across the country.

You can tune in and watch this action taking place in 32 locations around the country via UStream.tv, taking place from midnight to midnight of December 31st. It ends with the ringing in of the New Year. Miguel Gutierrez originally performed freedom of information alone on December 31, 2001, in response to the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan.
